Sweet Potato Fries

These are absolutely delicious for people who LOVE sweet potatoes. However, for those who aren’t such huge fans of sweet potatoes, I want you to know that my mom doesn’t really like them all that much, but she loved these fries.

Perhaps you’ve had some sweet potato fries at Sonic, or Pok-E-Jo’s, or any number of fast food restaurants, and you think you know whether you like them or not. But, I’m here to tell you to forget those. These, being homemade, are light-years better than those.

So here are your directions:

Serves: 4 as a large side dish
Cook time: 20-25 minutes

•Spray a cookie sheet or two with olive oil.
•Heat oven to 400°
•Wash 3-4 sweet potatoes depending on how many fries you want when you’re done.
•Peel them
•Cut them lengthwise so that they look reminiscent of those at restaurants (they do not have to be perfect, mine are far from)
•Spray the sweet potatoes with olive oil once they are on the pan so that they are fairly well coated with the stuff
•Sprinkle them with plenty of garlic salt (you can play with the spices to make it your own–cajun, paprika, chipotle, cinnamon, sugar–I just prefer to keep mine simple and savory)
•After they’ve been in about 10 minutes, take them out and use a spatula to turn them
•Cook for 10-15 more minutes
•Use spatula to remove them from the cookie sheet
