Crazy Food Journey

Living with newfound food intolerances (allergies, reactions)

Is What I Eat Making Me Sick?

I thought this question was kind of ridiculous when it first came up. How could my food be making me sick? I had heard of food allergies, but those involve anaphylactic shock. I didn’t have that.

As it turns out, though there are food reactions that involve dizziness or brain fog, things that I was having. These are not viewed as allergies by the medical community, but an intolerance.

Thus far I have found two main possibilities for developing an intolerance to food. One is overuse. For instance, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day for lunch for 10 years, or eating bananas every morning with your cereal. The second possibility is the fact that much of our food is genetically modified. These modifications can be harmful to our health.
